Rail

The Buckingham Branch Railroad owns and operates its Virginia Southern Division in Mecklenburg County. It provides shortline rail service from an interchange with Norfolk Southern at Burkeville, to the towns of Keysville, Chase City, and Clarksville. Current customers include AJ Transport, Eastern Engineered Wood Products, and Tucker Timber. The Buckingham Branch Railroad also owns a rail-to-truck transload facility in Keysville that offers warehousing and rail service to industries without a direct rail connection.
